Kaiser Permanente is seeking Physician Assistants (PA) to provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients with acute, chronic, or preventive care needs. This role involves performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing and implementing patient management plans under physician supervision. PAs will assume ongoing responsibility for patient care, from diagnosis to recovery, within primary care or specialty departments consistent with their educational background and regional practice guidelines.

Practice Info

• Functions in an expanded role to regularly provide primary, acute or emergency care to patients with complicated medical or surgical conditions which requires an intensive level of care and advanced certification in a specialty area (e.g., neonatal, intensive care, emergency medicine, operating room, etc.)
• A formal internship and/or equivalent on-the-job training in the specialty area are also required

Responsibilities

• Collect subjective data (obtain history)
• Collect objective data (perform a physical exam)
• Develop an assessment (diagnosis)
• Develop and implement a management plan
• Facilitate the referral of patients to the appropriate health facilities, agencies and resources within the community
• Order pharmacologic interventions
• Develop and implement an educational plan
• Plan for appropriate follow-up care

Compensation

• Pay Range: $83.51 - $102.53 / hour

Shift & Schedule

• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
• Shift: Day
• Workdays: Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat
• Working Hours Start: 08:30 AM
• Working Hours End: 05:00 PM
• Job Schedule: Full-time
• Variable shift include overnight and weekend call, hospital rounding, pediatric circumcisions, surgical assist in OR at DMC/BF, outpatient clinic

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year experience unless specified by department as an NP or PA
• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program OR graduate of an accredited RN and NP Program
• Masters Degree in Nursing (effective 1/1/03 for those not previously grandfathered in by CMS- NP only)
• Registered Nurse License (California) AND Nurse Practitioner National Certificate AND Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number (California) AND Nurse Practitioner Certificate (California) OR Physician Assistant License (California) AND Physician Assistant National Certificate from National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants
• Basic Life Support
• National Provider Identifier
• Current DEA Registration Number
• ACLS
• Strongly preferred Urology experience
