Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their collaborative team. This role involves providing direct care and follow-up for patients on the Special Delivery Unit and in The Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. The CNM will assess and manage the healthcare of the obstetrical patient population, offering prenatal, intrapartum, and post-partum care in collaboration with an attending obstetrician.

Responsibilities

• Provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for women and their families expecting to give birth to an infant with a fetal anomaly, including surgical first assist for cesarean sections
• Assess the complex needs of patients
• Utilize data to formulate a plan of care
• Analyze the indications, contraindications, risk of complications, and cost-benefit of therapeutic interventions
• Manage the plan of care through evaluation, modification, and documentation according to the patient's response
• Incorporate health promotion, health protection, and injury prevention measures into the plan of care
• Serve as an educational resource to patients/families, nursing staff, and provider team
• Act as a consultant to multidisciplinary health care team members

Compensation

• $115,060 - $152,450 Annually
• Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs
• If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly
• This job is eligible for an incentive program

Shift & Schedule

• Off-shift responsibility including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Master's Degree Nursing with a focus on Midwifery - Required
• At least two (2) years midwifery experience - Required
• Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
• Prescriptive Authority (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - within 3 months - Required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - within 3 months - Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - within 3 months - Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - within 3 months - Required
• Annual influenza vaccine required for employees working in patient care buildings or with patient-facing responsibilities
