About the Role:
Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Scientist, R&D to support development and validation of diagnostic assays within our growing laboratory organization. This individual contributor will work closely with the Director of R&D to execute experimental plans, perform bench work, analyze data, and support assay implementation into clinical operations.
This is an on-site laboratory role based in Central New Jersey.
You Will:
Assay Development and Validation
Execute assay development, optimization, and verification studies
Perform method validation experiments including precision, accuracy, linearity, interference, and stability testing
Prepare validation summaries and support documentation in compliance with CAP and CLIA requirements
Assist in development and revision of SOPs
Laboratory Execution
Perform hands on laboratory testing using blood based specimens
Support testing on automated chemistry and hematology platforms, including Roche Cobas Pro and Sysmex systems where applicable
Troubleshoot assay performance issues and recommend corrective actions
Maintain laboratory reagents, supplies, and equipment
Data Analysis
Compile and analyze experimental data
Support statistical evaluation of assay performance
Prepare figures, tables, and summaries for internal technical review
Cross Functional Collaboration
Partner with Clinical Laboratory Operations during assay transfer and implementation
Support quality and regulatory documentation activities as needed
You Have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience working as a bench scientist in an R&D or clinical laboratory environment
Experience working with blood based assays
Experience supporting assay validation and verification studies
Strong laboratory technique and troubleshooting skills
Preferred
Experience in diagnostics or clinical laboratory assay development
Experience with automated platforms such as Roche Cobas Pro or Sysmex instrumentation
Experience working with capillary blood specimens
Basic knowledge of statistical analysis related to assay performance
Experience in a CAP and/or CLIA regulated environment
