About the Role:

We are hiring a Director of HR Business Partners–Operations to lead our HRBP team supporting fulfillment and corporate operations functions, including Quality, Transportation, Supply Chain, and Corporate Ops. This is a high-impact, strategic role that sits at the intersection of people and performance, focused on scaling our HRBP model, strengthening leadership capability, and driving operational excellence through world-class HR partnership.

You will oversee a team of HRBPs and work closely with operations leaders to implement people strategies that elevate culture, retention, and leadership across distributed teams and work environments. A key area of focus will be workforce planning, ensuring we have the right talent in the right roles at the right time to meet the demands of a dynamic and fast-paced business. This requires a strong blend of field and corporate HR experience, deep understanding of operational dynamics, and a passion for developing both frontline managers and HR talent.

As the primary HRBP leader for our operations, you’ll be a critical voice in shaping how we attract, support, and grow talent across the entire operational organization. You’ll partner closely with Legal, People Leadership, and centralized HR teams to ensure consistency, clarity, and cohesion in how we lead and care for our people.

Location:

This position will be based in one of the following locations: California, Arizona, or Ohio.

You Will:

  • Direct a team of HR Business Partners supporting fulfillment sites and corporate operations functions, including Quality, Transportation, Supply Chain, and Corporate OPs.

  • Partner closely with operational leaders to develop and execute people strategies that drive performance, retention, and cultural cohesion across distributed teams.

  • Mentor and grow HRBP talent to operate with high standards, strong business acumen, and deep partnership with frontline and corporate leaders.

  • Ensure consistency in HRBP delivery across diverse environments—physical fulfillment sites and centralized Ops functions.

  • Partner with Legal and People Leadership to create and reinforce proactive practices that minimize employee relations issues.

  • Equip managers with tools, coaching, and frameworks to lead effectively and fairly—focusing on prevention, consistency, and early intervention.

  • Support fulfillment and corporate Ops managers in becoming stronger leaders—offering guidance on team performance, recognition, communication, and engagement.

  • Build capability and confidence across all leadership levels, from frontline supervisors to senior directors.

  • Be a champion of onsite culture and corporate connection—fostering an inclusive, safe, and high-performance work environment across all operational areas.

  • Use employee feedback to identify pain points, opportunities, and strengths—and collaborate with business partners to act on them.

  • Implement unified, scalable HR processes that connect fulfillment and corporate Ops populations, ensuring clarity and cohesion.

  • Serve as a strategic conduit between centralized HR functions (People Ops, Recruiting, Total Rewards) and operational leaders.

  • Analyze trends in engagement, attrition, leadership effectiveness, and feedback to shape data-driven HR strategies.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate metrics into practical, people-focused improvements.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a strong mix of field/fulfillment and corporate support.

  • Proven success leading HRBPs in high-growth, distributed operations environments.

  • Deep experience supporting functions like Supply Chain, Quality, Transportation, and Fulfillment.

  • Strong understanding of ER risk and how to build proactive leadership and policy environments—collaborating closely with Legal (but not owning investigations).

  • Demonstrated ability to develop people leaders and HR talent.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

  • High EQ, strong business acumen, and an ability to lead through influence.

  • Willingness to travel to fulfillment sites and corporate offices as needed (approx. 20–25%).

Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):

  • Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles

  • Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days

  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave

  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)

  • 401k benefits with employer matching contribution

  • Offsite team retreats

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply—even if you're not sure if your background or experience is a perfect match.
