​​About the Role:

As Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will promote and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, as well as lead patient safety initiatives within the pharmacy. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of all pharmacy operations and provide operational strategies for continuous improvement. You Will:

  • Lead the regulatory compliance of the pharmacy, ensuring that is at the core of the daily building operations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations that govern pharmacy operations, including licensure, accreditation, and medication safety standards.
  • Practice all state and federal pharmacy regulations for the handling, and management of prescriptions and prescription drug products
  • Working with the Compliance and Patient Safety teams, develop internal regulatory compliance audits and strategies for staff to maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Lead any inspections by the local Board of Pharmacy or any other regulatory body, through an in-depth knowledge of all pharmacy processes, systems, and SOPs
  • Organize and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices for every pharmacy operation and process within the building.
  • Partner directly with Head Compounding and Head Operations Pharmacists to govern and ensure QA and Compliance directives are carried out and implemented
  • Champion accountability and discipline across all pharmacy roles and process
  • Work with the ICQA and Quality teams to ensure the pharmacy maintains and follows SOPs for the appropriate receiving, handling and tracking for drugs and ingredients used.
  • Ensure all drugs and ingredients used in the pharmacy are of an appropriate quality for patient consumption
  • Maintain and promote all security and privacy rules regarding the use and handling of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with federal and state HIPAA regulations
  • Coordinate with Licensing Manager to ensure all licenses and certifications are kept up to date
  • Partner with the Head Compounding Pharmacist, Head Operations Pharmacist, and General Manager to resolve or prevent any compliance, SOP, or regulatory-related issues.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with company healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes and promote evidence-based practice.
  • In conjunction with the Quality team, ensure that quality assurance programs to monitor medication dispensing accuracy, medication use evaluations, and adverse drug event reporting are appropriately managed and run.
  • Lead a team that owns Compliance and Order Issue resolution to identify processes within the pharmacy or upstream of the pharmacy that can be improved to minimize pharmacy process and patient risk.
  • Work within the new product development process to provide pharmacy feedback in areas relevant for new product launches.
  • Lead one-on-ones and pharmacy team huddles with pharmacy leaders and core pharmacy staff members to maintain a close relationship and promote a safe and effective pharmacy workplace
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Doctorate preferred)
  • 8+ years experience as a pharmacist, 5 or more as a PIC or pharmacy manager
  • Effective knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy
  • Active Pharmacist License in pharmacy home state, unencumbered by pending or previous discipline, or willing to obtain licensure in pharmacy home state
  • Licensed in 15 or more states
  • Regulatory, compliance or pharmacy audit experience
  • Ability to work flexible shift times
  • Proficiency in English, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Windows based computer systems
  • Ability to deliver and receive feedback and information effectively to individuals and groups
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and promote company culture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered and/or Licensed in AZ, MD, VA, WV, LA, AL, MI, MS, TX, OR, KS, OK, TN, AR, KY, AR, AK, OH
  • Knowledge of principles, theories and laws, policies and procedures that pertain to compounding- specifically USP <795>, <800>, other USP general chapters
  • Mail Service/Mail Order Pharmacy Experience
  • Experience with scheduling and project management

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location. H&H also offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package that may include an equity grant.

$170,000$190,000 USD
