Opportunity Overview
Cohere is looking for an experienced Senior Director of Strategic Accounts to play an important role in retaining and growing our key accounts. Reporting directly to the SVP of Strategic Accounts, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships and driving key initiatives related to our growth and success. You will be interacting with Cohere clients on a daily basis and the work you do will have a direct impact on the growth of the company and our ability to impact more patients at a time in their healthcare journey when they need help most.
You should apply to this role if you are a seasoned account leader with significant experience managing large clients, especially health plan clients. To be successful, you need a strong background in successfully managing, retaining, and growing large client accounts. You should thrive on partnering closely with your clients to truly understand their needs and building account and expansion plans based on this understanding. You also need to build strong internal relationships in support of client delivery, and, while they may not report directly to you, you need internal stakeholders to support and trust you so that you can deliver for the customer. In addition, you need to have strong communication skills and a focus on delivering clear and simple messages to convey Cohere’s value.

What you will do:
- Act as the key relationship owner for a large Cohere account, ensuring that we well positioned and set up for success and growth
- Deeply understand how Cohere’s product and client solutions work and actively identify opportunities to drive growth and improve the value prop with clients
- Develop client roadmap and account plan for your dedicated account
- Rapidly develop materials including polished decks to communicate with Cohere’s clients, refining and clarifying the message to ensure it resonates with your accounts
- Support evaluation of expansion options with clients, including all considerations (financial, operational, etc.)
- Work cross-functionally with clinical, compliance, operations, data science, and engineering teams to solve complex problems
- Communicate clearly and distill complex ideas into simple concepts that are easily explainable to others
Your background & requirements:
- Bachelor's degree. Graduate degree in relevant field (e.g., MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred
- 10-15 years of experience working for top-tier consulting firm, IT services, big-tech, health-tech, startup, or similar environment
- Significant experience managing large client accounts, preferably with experience with health plan clients
- Deep and broad knowledge of the healthcare industry. Prior experience in UM, revenue cycle, digital health, and value-based care preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communications, and strong executive presence with the ability to influence other senior leaders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with demanding client expectations
- Customer-orientation and start-up ready mindset; comfortable with ambiguity
- Willingness to help with anything that is needed and to be flexible as client needs shift
- Passionate about improving the U.S. healthcare system and helping ensure every patient receives the best care possible
- Mainly remote, travel up to 25%
