The Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, quality-focused Quality Assurance Engineering Lead to spearhead our software quality initiatives. You’ll be based in Vienna—where our larger team sits—and collaborate with our Head of Design, (AI) engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders across Vienna and the US. Your mission: ensure the highest quality of our software through rigorous testing, process management, and workflow optimization.

What You’ll Do

• Software Quality Leadership:
  Lead all software quality efforts, including involvement in product design and development, automated and manual testing, AI quality control, process management, workflow optimization, release management, and other quality assurance-related duties.

• Product Design & Development Involvement:
  Participate in product design and development stages to ensure quality is built into the process from the start. Provide input on requirements, specifications, and design reviews.

• Automated & Manual Testing:
  Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including both automated and manual tests, to ensure thorough coverage and identify potential defects.

• AI Quality Control:
  Develop and implement quality control processes for our AI-driven features, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and performance.

• Process Management & Workflow Optimization:
  Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and workflows. Identify areas for improvement and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Release Management:
  Oversee the release process, ensuring that all software releases meet quality standards and are deployed smoothly.

• Data-Driven Insights & Reporting:
  Define and track quality metrics (defect rates, test coverage, release stability). Use analytics tools and feedback to identify trends, validate processes, and continuously improve quality assurance efforts.

• Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
  Serve as the primary quality assurance liaison: present quality reports, test results, and improvement plans to the Co-CEO and executive team. Keep cross-functional partners aligned on quality standards, testing schedules, and release timelines.

• Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
  Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in quality assurance. Implement new tools and techniques to enhance testing and quality control processes.

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of quality assurance engineering experience, ideally in consumer-facing or B2B SaaS environments.

• Proven success leading end-to-end software quality efforts, including automated and manual testing.

• Strong technical understanding of automated testing, including the ability to write testing code and to navigate through our tech stack (AWS, SQL, Java, Typescript).

• Deep proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (Jira, Zephyr, etc.).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and quality assurance processes.

• Strong communication skills and ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or behavior-change products.

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and quality control for AI systems.

• Background working with distributed or remote teams across time zones.

• Prior startup or fast-paced environment experience.
